Password Generator - Бесплатный онлайн-калькулятор

Generate strong random passwords with custom length, uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, symbols and an option to exclude confusing characters like O, 0, I, l and 1. The password is generated in your browser and is never sent to a server.

Описание

Что такое Password Generator

Weak passwords are still the single largest cause of account breaches. Billions of credentials leak each year through data breaches, phishing campaigns and stuffing attacks; the longer and more random your password, the safer your account. A 6-character lowercase password can be brute-forced in seconds on modern hardware; a 16-character mixed-case-numeric-symbol password is effectively unbreakable for the next several decades. This generator uses your browser's cryptographically-secure random number API (the same one banks use for session keys) to produce passwords that are genuinely unpredictable, not the pseudo-random sequences that programming languages return by default.

Why generate rather than think one up? Humans are notoriously bad at picking 'random' anything. We unconsciously avoid certain letters, repeat patterns, base passwords on dates and names, and reuse the same root across accounts. A generator removes all that bias. Pair this tool with a password manager (Bitwarden, 1Password, Apple Keychain, Google Password Manager) and you get the gold standard: a unique 20+ character random password per account, with you only needing to remember one master password.

Как пользоваться

Как пользоваться: Password Generator, шагов: 5

  1. Choose the password length.

  2. Turn uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols on or off.

  3. Optionally exclude similar-looking characters.

Как работает Password Generator

The generator uses the browser's cryptographic random number API when available. It first guarantees at least one character from every enabled set, then fills the rest from the combined pool and shuffles the characters. The entropy estimate is based on password length and the approximate character pool size.

Formula

Entropy ≈ length × log₂(character pool size)

  • LengthNumber of characters in the password
  • PoolEnabled uppercase/lowercase/number/symbol characters
  • EntropyHigher bits means harder to brute-force
Математика

Как Password Generator получает результат

The generator uses window.crypto.getRandomValues() - a Web Crypto API that returns cryptographically-strong random numbers backed by the operating system's entropy source. This is the same quality of randomness used for TLS session keys and cryptographic operations. JavaScript's regular Math.random() is NOT cryptographically secure and is never used here.

To ensure all enabled character classes appear (some sites require at least one uppercase, one number, etc.), the generator first picks one random character from each enabled set, then fills remaining positions from the combined pool, then shuffles the entire string with Fisher-Yates shuffle (also cryptographically random). This guarantees policy compliance while remaining unpredictable.

Entropy - the strength measure shown - is computed as length × log₂(pool size). Each random bit of entropy doubles the brute-force cost. 60 bits is the minimum for serious accounts; 80+ is recommended for banking and email; 128+ is overkill for nearly any practical purpose. A 16-character password from a 94-character pool has ~105 bits of entropy - beyond reach of any current or projected brute-force attack.

Примеры

Разобранные примеры

Strong banking password example: 20 chars, all classes

Pool size: 94 (26 lower + 26 upper + 10 digits + ~32 symbols). Entropy: 20 × log₂(94) ≈ 131 bits. Brute-force time at 1 trillion guesses/sec: longer than the age of the universe.

Practical WiFi password: 16 chars, no symbols

Pool size: 62 (alphanumeric only). Entropy: 16 × log₂(62) ≈ 95 bits. Easy to type on a TV remote or printer but still effectively unbreakable.

Memorable but secure: 5 words with separators (passphrase)

Diceware-style passphrase like 'correct-horse-battery-staple-jaipur' has ~65 bits of entropy when picked from a 7776-word list. Strong, plus easy to type and (sort of) remember.

Где применять

Когда использовать: Password Generator

  • Generating unique passwords per online account to limit damage from data breaches.
  • Creating WiFi passwords for home or office routers - long alphanumeric without symbols to avoid keyboard headaches.
  • Banking, UPI app, demat account passwords - use 20+ characters with all classes.
  • Email account passwords - your email is the recovery channel for everything else; protect it most.
  • Database admin passwords, server root passwords, SSH key passphrases for developers.
  • Generating one-time passwords (OTPs) or session tokens for internal systems.
  • Replacing weak or reused passwords identified by a security audit or password manager.
Осторожно

Типичные ошибки и подводные камни

  • Reusing the same password across multiple accounts. One breach compromises all of them.
  • Choosing passwords short enough to brute-force (under 12 characters with all classes is risky).
  • Adding obvious suffixes ('Mumbai123!', 'Password2026') - attackers know these patterns.
  • Saving passwords in plain text files, emails, or unsecured notes apps. Use a password manager.
  • Sharing passwords over chat, email or SMS without a secure transfer mechanism.
Советы профи

Как получить больше от инструмента

  • Use a password manager so you don't have to remember dozens of unique passwords. Generate, store, autofill - done.
  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on every important account. Even a perfect password is one step; 2FA is the second.
  • For accounts you type passwords into (TV streaming apps, work computers), prefer alphanumeric only - symbols slow typing significantly.
  • Rotate critical passwords every 6-12 months, especially for accounts with money or sensitive data.
  • Treat your email password as the most important one - it's the recovery channel for nearly every other account.
Вопросы

Вопросы: Password Generator

Is this password generator safe?

Yes for normal use. It runs locally and uses crypto.getRandomValues in modern browsers. Still, save generated passwords only in a trusted password manager.

What password length should I use?

Use at least 16 characters for important accounts. For banking, email and password managers, 20+ characters is better.

Should I include symbols?

Yes if the website allows them. Longer passwords matter most, but symbols increase the character pool and improve entropy.

Why exclude similar characters?

It reduces mistakes when reading or typing passwords manually, especially O/0 and I/l/1.

Does Online Calculator Tools store generated passwords?

No. Password generation happens entirely in your browser.

Small tools that save real time

Date math, password generation, QR codes, IP subnets, base64 encoding, dew point, dice rolls, age calculations - none of these are 'big' problems individually, but they are the small frictions that interrupt your day. This tool runs entirely in your browser, has no popup, no chat widget and no tracking inside the calculation, so you can finish the task and move on.

Many tools in the Daily Utilities category complement each other - date difference + day counter + day-of-the-week, or password generator + QR code + base64 encoder. The related-tool grid links them together so you can move between adjacent problems in a click.

The Password Generator is part of the Daily Utilities suite on Online Calculator Tools, alongside 6 related calculators. All tools share the same UI patterns, the same privacy-first rendering (nothing is sent to a server), and the same commitment to showing the formula and assumptions behind every result.
