Last period: 5 May, 28-day cycle, 5-day period
Next period: 2 June. Ovulation: 19 May. Fertile window: 14-20 May. Subsequent periods: 30 June, 28 July, 25 August, 22 September, 20 October.
Plan ahead with predicted period dates for the next 6 months. This calculator predicts your menstrual cycles, ovulation days and fertile windows from your last period. Useful for travel, events, fertility planning and contraception.

Cycle length · counted from Day 1 of one period to Day 1 of the next
Ovulation · typically 14 days before the next period
Fertile window · 5 days before ovulation through 1 day after
Predictions assume regular cycles. Stress, illness, weight changes, PCOS or thyroid issues can shift dates. Calendar-based tracking is not a reliable contraceptive method (24% annual failure rate).

Knowing when your next periods are coming makes life dramatically easier - for travel planning, event scheduling, sports and fitness activities, sexual health, and basic preparation. This calculator predicts the next 6 menstrual cycles based on your last period and average cycle length, including expected ovulation dates and fertile windows. The forecast accuracy is high in the first 2-3 cycles (±2-3 days), decreasing in later cycles as natural variability accumulates.
Beyond convenience, period tracking is a vital women's health practice. Significant changes in cycle length, period duration, flow heaviness, or pain can signal hormonal imbalances, PCOS, thyroid issues, fibroids, endometriosis, or other conditions. Logging cycle dates and symptoms over 6-12 months gives your gynaecologist much better data than memory recall, and helps identify patterns that might otherwise be missed.
Enter the first day of your last menstrual period.
Adjust your average cycle length (21-35 days is the typical range).
Set your average period duration (most are 3-7 days).
Read the predicted dates for the next 6 cycles.
Each cycle starts cycleLength days after the previous one. Ovulation occurs 14 days before the next period (luteal phase is consistent). Fertile window is 5 days before ovulation through 1 day after, when conception is most likely.
Next period = Last period + Cycle length Ovulation = Next period − 14 days Fertile window = Ovulation − 5 to Ovulation + 1
The calculator predicts each subsequent period as: Previous period start + Cycle length. Ovulation is computed as: Next period − 14 days (the luteal phase is biologically fixed at 12-14 days for most women, regardless of total cycle length). Fertile window spans 5 days before ovulation through 1 day after - the period when conception is biologically possible. This is the standard 'forward calendar' method used in fertility tracking apps worldwide.
Normal cycle length range is 21-35 days, with 28 days as the population average. Individual variation of ±3-5 days between cycles is normal and doesn't indicate any issue. Larger variation (±7+ days) or cycles consistently outside the 21-35 day range warrants gynaecological evaluation. PCOS commonly causes cycles of 40+ days; thyroid dysfunction can cause both short and long cycles; significant weight changes affect cycle regularity.
Calendar-based prediction has inherent limits. Late ovulation due to stress, illness or travel can shift the next period by 1-2 weeks. The fertile-window prediction is most accurate when combined with ovulation prediction kits (LH strips) or basal body temperature tracking. For pure conception or contraception planning, multi-method tracking is far more reliable than calendar alone.
Next period: 2 June. Ovulation: 19 May. Fertile window: 14-20 May. Subsequent periods: 30 June, 28 July, 25 August, 22 September, 20 October.
Next period: 11 June. Ovulation: 28 May. Fertile window: 23-29 May. Subsequent periods: 13 July, 14 August, 15 September. The longer cycle pushes ovulation later than the standard day 14.
Cycles 21-35 days are normal. Variation of ±3 days month-to-month is normal. Tracking 3-6 cycles improves prediction accuracy.
Predictions are less reliable. Use the average of your last 6 cycles. PCOS, thyroid issues, stress and weight changes can cause irregularity - see a gynaecologist if cycles are >40 days or wildly variable.
The 6-day window ending on ovulation day. Day −5 to ovulation are most fertile. After ovulation, fertility drops sharply.
Rare but possible - especially with short cycles (21-22 days). Sperm can survive 5 days, so unprotected sex on Day 5-7 of bleeding could overlap ovulation in a short cycle.
Each cycle has natural variability. Predicting cycle 6 compounds 5 cycles of variation. Use the calendar as a guide; track actual dates for accuracy.
Calendar-based 'rhythm' methods have a 24% failure rate per year - not reliable on their own. Use it for planning, not for preventing pregnancy.
Body composition, daily energy needs and pregnancy timelines all rest on formulas validated across millions of people, but no single number tells the whole story. The values from this calculator are point estimates with a known margin of error - body fat from skinfold or US Navy method has roughly a ±3% standard error compared to a DEXA scan, and BMR can vary ±10% person to person at the same height and weight. Use these numbers to track trends week over week, not to chase decimal precision day to day.
Pair this tool with the BMR, TDEE, calorie and macro calculators to turn a single measurement into an actionable plan. None of these tools are a substitute for a qualified doctor, registered dietitian or certified strength coach - but they remove the busywork so you spend more time on training and recovery, less on math.
