About Education calculators
A lot of academic decisions in India come down to specific numbers - can you still skip a lecture and stay above the 75% attendance cutoff, what minimum score do you need in the final paper to hit your target CGPA, or how does your 8.3/10 convert for a job application that asks for percentage. These aren't complicated problems, but getting them wrong costs time and sometimes opportunities. Our education calculators handle GPA, CGPA, attendance, and exam-score calculations with the grading conventions most Indian universities use by default.
GPA vs CGPA - what's the difference?
GPA (Grade Point Average) is per semester. CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is the average of all your semester GPAs, usually weighted by credits. Indian universities mostly use a 10-point CGPA scale (CBSE, Anna University, VTU); some autonomous and private universities use 4.0 or 5.0. The GPA / CGPA calculators support all common scales and can convert between them.
Attendance maths the right way
Most Indian colleges require 75% attendance to sit the end-semester exam. The attendance calculator tells you (a) your current %, (b) how many classes you can still skip without dropping below 75%, and (c) how many you must attend to recover if you're already below. The math is exact - no rounding tricks.
Predicting your final grade
The exam-score calculator handles weighted assessment - internals + practical + theory at any percentage split. Enter what you've scored so far and what's pending, and see the minimum score you need on the final exam to hit your target percentage or letter grade. Useful for triage during exam week.
Conversion between Indian and global scales
For international university or job applications, you'll typically need to present your Indian CGPA or percentage in a 4.0 GPA format. There is no single universal conversion - WES (World Education Services), ECE, and individual institutions each have their own tables. The most common rough mapping for US graduate admissions is 3.5+ for 80%+, 3.0+ for 70%+, but always verify with the specific institution's official policy or use a credential evaluation service for visa and admissions purposes. The CGPA calculator outputs both formats so you have a starting point for whichever form the application asks for.
What our calculators can and cannot do
These tools handle the math - averages, weightings, attendance percentages, target-grade reverse calculations - but they do not replace the academic policy of your institution. Every university has rules about minimum CGPA for graduation, allowed re-evaluations, lateral-entry credit transfer and grace marks; check those policies on the official university website. Many universities also use slightly different rounding rules in the final transcript. Use these calculators to plan and to triage during exam week, then verify the final number with your faculty advisor before any high-stakes decision like applications or scholarships.
